Wireless mdem
As in the case with cell phones it is possible to use PDAs a wireless modem .
The data subscription and the type of phone determine the bandwidth of the
Internet connection. The cost of internet on the PC or laptop via a PDA is the
same as the use of internet on the phone itself.
Windows Mobile 5
If you have a PDA with Windows Mobile 5 and wish to connect to a PC running
Windows XP or Windows Vista, obtain the modem drivers and make a dial-up connection as
with a cell phone.
To enable the modem functionality on the PDA start the program Wireless Modem on
the PDA.
Choose USB or Bluetooth and click on Start.
Windows Mobile 6
Windows Mobile 6 features an Internet Sharing application.
When connecting a PDA with Windows Mobile 6 to a PC running Windows XP, it is
necessary to have ActiveSync installed on the PC. This so that the correct modem
driver is installed.
When connecting to Windows Vista, make sure you have the Mobile Device Center
installed.
If all is installed well, just run the Internet Sharing application on the
PDA, and connect the USB cable.
If the phone receives an incoming call whilst it is being used as a modem,
the internet connection is dropped.
